Paulos and Ababo

Africa

Paulos and Ababo were sent to Ethiopia by CityLife Church in 2008 to plant a church in Addis Ababa. In 2010, CityLife International Church was officially launched. Their vision is to build a church that is based on unity in diversity and committed to authentic, loving relationships and a commitment to expanding the Kingdom of God. They want to plant new churches in the city, rural areas, all the federal states in Ethiopia, Africa and the rest of the world. Their strategy for reaching out is to raise leaders, plant churches and serve the communities around the churches in a holistic way through development, training and ministry teams.

In Ethiopia

Nine churches (with a total attendance of over 1,500) have been planted in various urban and rural communities. They are led by local leaders raised by Paulos and his team, who trained them through discipleship and our LifeTrax teaching program. They regularly send ministry teams out to rural communities to share the gospel. With the help of funds raised here in Melbourne, two of these villages have been connected to fresh water and meeting places have been built for these new churches, which are growing rapidly. As a result of this holistic approach to missions, doors continue to open to the Gospel. CityLife International Church Ethiopia is thriving and people are hungry for more of God.

Construction of the new facility for the Burayu church plant is proceeding well with the majority of the excavation and earth works completed, and concreting of the foundation plus sub-structure well on its way.

As the CityLife International Church team in Ethiopia continue to advance the Kingdom of God, they need our help and support to overcome both spiritual and practical obstacles.

The Djini Family

At the start of 2017, Paulos & Ababo shifted their ministry base to Melbourne. The day to day running of the ministry in Ethiopia is now being taken care of by the strong local team that they raised. Paulos & Ababo will continue to travel back and forth between Australia and Ethiopia, to support, train and encourage the national leaders. Paulos will also be mentoring the leadership in Ethiopia through various means. This is a well-recognised role for missionaries in various seasons of their ministry journey.
