Divakar and Charis lead Life Church (formerly known as Waltair Christian Fellowship), a congregation of approximately 400 members. Formerly the principal of a teacher’s college, Divakar has a passion to bring the Good News to unreached people groups and has established a highly effective ministry that raises leaders and sends pastors to plant churches in villages across six states. CityLife Church’s journey with them officially began in 1998 with the construction of a multipurpose facility for the church and bible college. Every year, 40 church planters are trained in the bible college and the students then go out to plant churches. Today there are Life Church congregations in 166 villages!

Each week Divakar and his team are raising leaders, growing congregations and transforming communities. Some people drive for hours (across six states) with Divakar to remote villages to share Christ with the communities there, and others actually move to these villages with their families in order to continue the work. There is a great demand among these rural communities for the adult literacy program that Divakar developed, and through these programs many have been able to break out of the cycle of poverty. Every activity and team member shares the love of Jesus Christ. In his hometown itself, children from impoverished backgrounds are given a home and a safe, nurturing environment in which to live and study. Many children went out of this home after becoming engineers, teachers, nurses, Christian ministers in various fields etc.

Each month it takes:
$ 45 to support a bible college student
$ 100 to support a national pastor

$ 230,000 land purchase and ministry centre (church, primary school and bible college)
