South Asia

Mark and Ruth, with their children Nathan, Elisabeth and Benjamin, served for almost 10 years in North India. They went there to do church planting amongst Muslim and Hindu communities. Eventually, they established a charity trust called Restore India. Through a holistic ministry, Restore India not only brings practical help to poor communities, but also the hope of the gospel. The work was released into the hands of their local partners in 2013, and Restore India now works in fourteen communities in five cities across North India. Many of these previously unreached communities now have thriving churches.

Home to 40% of the world’s poor, India has more unreached people groups than anywhere else in the world. It’s a place of both spiritual and natural poverty, with many people living on less than $2 per day. Together with local church-planters, Restore India serves poor communities at their point of need and in doing so opens doors for the gospel to be shared.

Restore India’s work includes:

  • Literacy and vocational training schools
  • Child Education and Nutrition programs
  • Medical and Outreach camps
  • Income Generation Projects

Each month it takes:
$ 120 to support a national pastor

It costs:
$ 500 to sponsor a child for a year
$ 2,000 to purchase a power generator for a literacy centre
$ 5,000 to build a shelter for the centre

Prayer Points

  • Please continue to pray for the different Restore India Programs, particularly the ones which are reaching into new communities. Pray also for the numbers of fellowships which have been birthed through the work.
  • Continue to pray for the growing opportunities to network and be an influence with a wider number of churches within Singapore and in the Asian region. Please pray that these connections will translate to strong relationships with Pioneers in Asia.
  • For Mark, please pray for good health – physically and emotionally, and for wisdom as he leads the growing team that is in the office here, as well as juggling a rather heavy load of travelling and speaking engagements.
  • Pray for Nathan, Elisabeth and Benjamin – that their hearts will remain soft towards the things of God, and that they will continue to pursue God.
