Jeff and Annette

South East Asia

In October 1974, Jeff and Annette Hammond were commissioned by CityLife Church (then Waverley Christian Fellowship) to serve in Central Sulawesi, Indonesia. From 1974 to 1982 they established a Bible college, trained 300 leaders and helped plant 188 new churches.

From 1983 to 1995 they travelled extensively, conducting seminars all over Indonesia and SE Asia, giving birth to new movements among university students and young dynamic churches.

In 1997 Jeff was appointed as one of the senior pastors of Abbalove Ministries. He still serves in that role today and the church has now grown to over 25,000 in the city of Jakarta.

In Indonesia

The Hammond’s dream to grow the church in Jakarta to 25,000 plus has become a reality. The current task is to raise and multiply leadership for continued future growth. Another major aspect of their dream is to develop an extensive ministry to persecuted Christians throughout Indonesia, as well as developing a vital ministry to the Islamic people in both Indonesia and the Middle East. To this end, their dream is to raise up and empower indigenous missionaries who can effectively bridge the cultural gap and bring the gospel of Jesus Christ to Muslim communities.
