Prayer Points for October 2026

The Fruit of the Spirit - To Become Mature in Christ

Scripture - “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control.” (Galatians 5:22–23)

Prayer Focus: The Fruit of the Spirit calls us into spiritual maturity, where Christ’s character is steadily shaped and formed within us. These nine qualities are not separate goals but nine expressions of one Spirit transformed life. As we walk with the Holy Spirit, the life of Christ becomes visible in our attitudes, relationships, and daily decisions.

Pray for:
- A deeper surrender to the Holy Spirit’s transforming work.
- Christ’s character to be formed in us - A unified, Spirit shaped life that reflects all aspects of His fruit
- Growth in love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control

Gifted for Kingdom Service

Scripture: “Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.” (1 Corinthians 12:7)

Prayer Focus: God works through each person by the power of the Holy Spirit. Every believer is entrusted with gifts - not for personal benefit, but for the good of others and the building up of Christ’s body. The Spirit manifests His work through every member so that the whole church may flourish and God’s kingdom may advance.

Pray for:
- A clear understanding of the gifts the Holy Spirit has given to each person, and a heart that desires to use them for the good of others
- Faithful, Spirit led stewardship of our gifts, so that every act of service builds up the body of Christ
- Open doors and divine opportunities to serve in both the church and the wider community, bringing blessing wherever God places us
- Fruitfulness and effectiveness in every ministry, so that the Spirit’s work through us brings genuine benefit, encouragement, and growth to others

One in Christ Across All Nations

Scripture: “A great multitude… from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne…” (Revelation 7:9)

Prayer Focus: We celebrate the beauty of God’s kingdom expressed through diversity—cultures, languages, generations—and pray for unity across all our sites and ministries. May the Spirit lead us in love, connection, and shared mission.

Pray for:
- Unity and deep connection across sites, ministries, cultures, and generations
- God’s blessing on our multisite mission and partnerships
- A joyful celebration of diversity as a reflection of God’s kingdom
- The International Festival:
To strengthen missions and field partners
To reach our neighbours with God’s love
To create meaningful cross cultural engagement

Getting Ready to Fast

These are some great reflections around why prayer and fasting is so profound and powerful. By nature, every one of us is inclined to take the path of least resistance. We want to avoid pain at all costs. We love shortcuts. We tend to avoid disciplines, however God says when we do fast and pray he will reward us.

  • Decide what you are going to fast from. Food, technology, entertainment or something else.
  • Block out a specific time that you will abstain from it so you can pray and seek God.
  • Be consistent. Stay with it. Stick to it.
  • Set a specific period of time.
  • Set a specific objective. What will you like to focus on in prayer during that time.
  • Prepare yourself spiritually. Take time to read the word. Worship. Journal.
