1. Opening Reflection (5 minutes)
Leader to read and ask group to close eyes.
Imagine walking through a desert.
Dry, cracked earth under your feet.
The sun beating down.
No sign of life… nothing but barrenness.
Now imagine that same desert transformed.
Streams flowing through it.
Lush green shoots breaking through the earth.
Life springing up where nothing seemed possible.
Ask group to open eyes.
Discussion:
1. Where have you seen “desert places” in people’s lives?
2. Where have you seen God bring unexpected life?
3. Have you ever experienced a spiritual desert season personally?
Transition Comment:
God’s desire and design has always been healthy multiplication - not just growth in numbers, but growth in life, depth, and transformation.
2. The Mission of Every Believer (10 minutes)
Read: Matthew 28:18–20
Jesus did NOT say: Gather crowds. Build events. Run programs.
He said: MAKE DISCIPLES.
The “go” carries the sense of as you go - meaning mission is a lifestyle, not an event.
Discussion:
1. What has shaped your view of evangelism growing up?
2. Do you see evangelism as a lifestyle or a program? Why?
3. Who in your current world does not know Jesus?
Leader Emphasize:
Evangelism is not optional - it is the beginning of every disciple’s journey.
Healthy multiplication begins with reaching new people.
3. The Parable of the Sower (8 minutes)
Read: Matthew 13:1–23 (summarise if restricted by time)
Three key truths:
· We are called to sow.
· Hearts respond differently.
· We cannot control soil - only our obedience.
Discussion:
1. Which soil have you seen most commonly in people around you?
2. What does faithful sowing look like practically?
3. Where might you need to grow in patience in discipleship?
Key Point:
Healthy multiplication requires patient cultivation.
4. Vision for Our City (7 minutes)
Amanda shared about how the City of Casey currently has approximately 429,000 people and continues to grow rapidly.
If each person discipled one person over two years - and that continued - transformation could happen within one generation.
This is not about hype.
It is about long obedience in the same direction.
Discussion:
1. What excites you about this vision?
2. What intimidates you?
3. What would change if every person in this group discipled one person intentionally?
4. In her message, Amanda said “We as a church are more interested in sending capacity than seating capacity.” – how does this encourage you?
5. Life Groups as Multiplication Hubs (5 minutes)
Life Groups are not just for believers to gather — they are places where:
We share meals.
We share life.
We grow.
We invite.
This year, each Life Group will intentionally host four gatherings designed for unsaved friends.
Discuss Together:
1. Who could we begin praying for now?
2. What kind of gathering would feel natural and welcoming?
3. What is one step we can take in the next month?
4. Write names down. Be specific.
5. Work out suitable dates for the year to hold these four gatherings
6. Scripture & Prayer Response (7 minutes)
Read: Isaiah 43:18–19
“Forget the former things;
do not dwell on the past.
See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness
Close by praying for those who are unsaved and for us to have courage as we go.
