Prayer Points for July 2025

Faithfulness - like Deborah, who led with strength and wisdom, and like Othniel, who led with humility and obedience, pray that we will remain faithful to God and bring honour to His Name in our daily lives. (Judges 4-5; 3:7-11; Ps. 31:23; Ps. 85:10)

Fearlessness - like Jephthah, a man of great courage and faith, and like Gideon, who ultimately found the courage to obey God, pray that we will have a ‘warrior’ spirit that will fiercely trust God in every situation in which we find ourselves. (Judges 6-8; 10:6-12:7; Prov 3:5; Eph 3:20)

Faith in Action - Like Ehud, a clever, courageous and influential leader, and like Samson, who finished strong, pray that we will align ourselves to what God is doing around us, and be known for our deeds as well as our love. (Judges 3:12-30; 13-16; James 2:18)

Getting Ready to Fast

These are some great reflections around why prayer and fasting is so profound and powerful. By nature, every one of us is inclined to take the path of least resistance. We want to avoid pain at all costs. We love shortcuts. We tend to avoid disciplines, however God says when we do fast and pray he will reward us.

  • Decide what you are going to fast from. Food, technology, entertainment or something else.
  • Block out a specific time that you will abstain from it so you can pray and seek God.
  • Be consistent. Stay with it. Stick to it.
  • Set a specific period of time.
  • Set a specific objective. What will you like to focus on in prayer during that time.
  • Prepare yourself spiritually. Take time to read the word. Worship. Journal.
